SHOULD GUY FAWKES BE BANNED IN NZ?

I agree that guy fawkes should be banned because it creates fires, hurts people and frightens animals.

 Guy fawkes should be banned because... Fireworks can affect Hearing to people and animals, it could blind people, and hurt people. If used inappropriately it can catch flamible things on fire like if you don't run away fast enough something that you might be wearing might can catch on fire.

And animals get so frightened they do unusual things like run into FENCES!!!

also you can't control the spark that might catch tree's on fire, and the smoke from the fireworks kills animal habitats such as coral.

Also even though Li Tian is a harmless guy that invented Fireworks someone called Guy Fawkes tried to use them for evil instead of good by trying to blow up parliament.

even though the reason why we celebrate is because he didn't succeed, it is still a bad danger to people and others.

LONG WEEKEND!!!

                                                      LONG WEEKEND!!!
On the long weekend I did a fun run with my Mum and my Brother out Tokerau Beach. We got there at 9 AM to be there before over 200 people came also to get good parking... The run started at  10 am and people had the choice of running the 2 km, 4 km, 6 km, 8 km, and 12 km and of course I chose 2 km. When all the kids got back and was waiting for the 12 km runners everyone hed a sand castle competition and at that moment I saw my friend Lucy and we did a Octopus for our sand creation... also when we finished they gave out over one hundred prizes and after that everyone went home.but before that they gave out free food and drinks...

Pablo Picasso!!!

In my class we have been learning about the amazing artist Pablo Picasso.

We have all been trying our best to do our own Pablo Picasso art, because we are INSPIRED by       him... First we did this thing called Roll-a-Picasso.(Roll a Picasso is a fun game where you roll the dice, there is a list of things like ears, eyes, and mouths on the list and whatever you roll you get, as a example if you roll a five you might get a square ear) then we drew what we got on bits of paper and arranged it around our face shape!!! Then we drew it on a bigger piece of paper and coloured it with chalk pastel, cut it out and glued it on black paper...

                         Interesting facts about Picasso

                   1. Picasso's first word was PENCIL as they would say in France CRAYON.

                                    2. When he was 14 his sister died at the age of 7 

                                   3. Did you know that Picasso was married twice?

When we were filming with Harley one of the first things he asked everyone in the classroom was ''what is the difference between a script and a piece of writing?'' everyone answered a script it has characters, lines for different people to say, and it is something you act out. Harley also explained what the rule of thirds is.

Harley said what we all need to say when we start and it goes like this the director says quiet on set! turn over then the camera person says camera speed then the sound person says sound speed last of all the clapper board person says the characters names then says take one as an example:Alex and Drew take one.in the classroom the way we got to choose our parts was just asking if we could swap after their turn.

At the end of our session Harley showed us a short 7 minute movie he directed link will be down below in blue if you want to see it.it was so so fun filming !!!!!!!!!!!

MAHI TAHI

At Mahi Tahi today it was outrageous!!! You probably know what we do first, well Tui, Kakapo, and Te Kahu get together and get into groups sit with them then listen to a fun little activity that the teachers give us to do like doing paper collage, BUT today it wasn't it was the FUNNEST activity outside!!! It was a taste testing challenge. My group had four people so two of us were blindfolded. One of us tasted and described what they thought it was and one guessed it. There were 11 different types of food and liquid to have like...
1.icing sugar                7. rice bubbles
2. mustard yum!          8. caper seed
3. cocoa powder           9. golden syrup
4. lime juice                 10. chili sauce 
5. salt                            11. hot sauce
6. marmite
I had lime juice, and caper seed yuck!!!
We used collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. I give this activity two thumbs up.Have you tried being blindfolded and trying some of the things on this list?

Google Earth 🌍

In Tui class we are learning about famous landmarks an one way we saw all round these landmarks is by going on google earth...I went on to google earth and saw all round the great pyramid of Giza!!! Apparently there are HIDDEN doors to get inside.

something else I looked up on google earth was the Sydney opera house wow!!! It looks so amazing especially at night. It is a piece of art. Did you know that and it changes colors at night as well.

 The last thing that I looked at on google earth was... the Colosseum it is so cool! did you know that the Colosseum's ground was pulled out and now you can see the tunnels.

Hollywood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to go to Hollywood because...

 I can learn more about what has happened in history like who made it onto the Hollywood walk of fame (stars), or all the films that have been produced there like Toy Story Four, and the Wizard Of Oz, also the Lion King.

I want to go to Hollywood because...

I can try some of their best well loved food like strawberry donuts, and chili dogs delicious, but one of the cool things is animal style fries which is animal shaped fries yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last reason I want to go to Hollywood is...

cause I want to go to Disney Adventure park, universal studios,go to the museum of Illusions, and go to see the Hollywood sign...

Information report

              What is a information report?
Well an information report is where you write all the important information like where or what it is. In Tui class we have been learning about different country's and the way we got to know what our country's are to write about were we all thought of different country's and wrote them down on a little blue  piece of paper, screwed it up, threw it in the air and picked a different one up and I got England where the Queen lives and that is something that we would have to include. We planned it out by thinking of important information like the population, capital city, currency, languages spoken,famous landmarks, culture, celebrations, and traditional food and when you choose what important information you need to know, this is what you do. Write it in paragraphs, each topic needs its own paragraph there is a lot of important information you need to include but I hope you have learnt a bit more about information reports.

My 200 dollar note.

My 200 dollar note has an Albatross because they swim in the sea, I chose a yacht because it is used to sail the seas. I chose this because the person I put on my 200 dollar note is Sir Peter Blake. He is an important person to New Zealand by being the first New Zealander to win the Americas cup for sailing.He also competed in the Whitbread round the world race (now known as the Volvo ocean race)

A biography is a retell of another persons life

An example Sir Edmund Hillary how he climbed mount Everest, or how Kate shepherd was one of the first women to vote, or how one of your family members started work at ...

you can do it about anyone you want.

but there is an opposite thing what is called a auto biography which is where you write about yourself.

something you will need to write a successful biography is someone to write about and their achievements ,what they're well  known for, when they were born and their life as a kid and if they have passed away do the date for when that happened.

The process of art.

In Tui we are learning about Sandra Silberzweig and how she does her art, once we had researched her we all decided to do something similar to it. The process of how we did it was like this first we did this work sheet that we had to draw patterns on. Secondly we watched this video for how to do it. ( the link will be down below ) next we looked at a color weal and also looked at primary colors and secondary colors. then we got our sheet with patterns on and got some paper, drew a picture that is something like Sandra Silberzweig's art. next we needed to draw lightly on A4 paper and then go over the lines with Indian ink and then make it look real colorful with chalk pastels and if the pastels go on the ink we go over the lines at the end and this is my finished product.
